Go to Music Playlist

I have a very wide variety of music on my phone. I mean it ranges from Frank Sinatra to Billy Joel to Travis Scott to Luke Bryan…its all over the place. So I thought I would share my go to music playlist for the time being. Looking at my itunes playlists at the moment I can tell you I have way too many playlists with the same songs. But the one I click on most is Untitled #3.

The first song on this list is ‘Drift Away’ by Uncle Kracker…also the only song I have ever heard by him. It just has the most soothing tune and makes me wish I was on a beach somewhere with nothing to do.

“Oh, Give me the beat boys and free my soul

I wanna get lost in your rock and roll and drift away

Give me the beat boys and free my soul

I wanna get lost in your rock and roll and drift away…”

Next up comes from A$AP Rocky…’Everyday.’ I originally started listening to this song because it had Rod Stewart in it and I love his music. However, I have grown to really like the song over all.

“Everyday I spend my time

Drinking Wine, Feeling Fine

Waiting here to find the sign

That I can understand

Yes I Am…”

I then move onto Def Leppard’s ‘Pour Some Sugar on Me,’ a classic in both strip clubs and my car rides. It brings my energy up like no other song and sometimes I really need that.

” Pour some sugar on me

Ooh, In the name of love

Pour some sugar on me

C’mon fire me up

Pour your sugar on me

I can’t get enough…”

We then switch genres crazily once again and move to ‘Goosebumps’ by Travis Scott. This one I can blame my boyfriend for. I didn’t like the song but he insisted on playing it every long car ride and now I like it a little too much…

“I get those goosebumps every time, yeah, you come around, yeah

You ease my mind, you make everything feel fine…”

Now onto a complete legend…….Elton John with ‘Crocodile Rock’!!! I love all of Elton John’s songs but this one is in my top three for sure. My other favorites by him that are not on this playlist are ‘Your Song’ and ‘Tiny Dancer,’ I will never get bored of his music.

“Well Crocodile Rocking is something shocking

When your feet just can’t keep still

I never knew me a better time and I guess I never will…”

Continuing with the legendary singers and song writers are three songs by Billy Joel. First one up is, of course, ‘Piano Man.’ This is the first song I ever heard by Billy Joel and I am beyond happy to listen to it non stop over 5 years later.

“Sing us a song, you’re the piano man
Sing us a song tonight
Well, we’re all in the mood for a melody
And you’ve got us feelin’ alright…”
The next one is ‘Only the Good Die Young.’
“Well, they showed you a statue, told you to pray
They built you a temple and locked you away
Aw, but they never told you the price that you pay
For things that you might have done
Only the good die young
That’s what I said
Only the good die young
Only the good die young…”

The last one by Billy Joel is my favorite..I even memorized all the words, which for this song is a lot…’We Didn’t Start the Fire.’ I am still not completely sure what the meaning of this song is but it doesn’t matter because it gets me motivated and happy to go for everything.

“We didn’t start the fire

It was always burning

Since the world’s been turning

We didn’t start the fire

No we didn’t light it

But we tried to fight it…”

Now let’s bring it back to Def Leppard with ‘Photograph’ and ‘Rock of Ages’…

“Oh, look what you’ve done to this rock ‘n’ roll clown
Oh oh, look what you’ve done
Photograph I don’t want your
Photograph I don’t need your
Photograph all I’ve got is a photograph
But it’s not enough…”
“Rise up gather round
Rock this place to the ground
Burn it up, let’s go for broke
Watch the night go up in smoke
Rock on Rock on
Drive me crazier, no serenade
No fire brigade, just pyromania…”
Moving onto the only song I have ever liked by Foo Fighters…’Best of you.’ I’m one of those people that when I feel down I will listen to songs like this to get my mood up and this one does the job every time, I love it.
“I’ve got another confession to make
I’m your fool
Everyone’s got their chains to break
Holdin’ you
Were you born to resist or be abused?
Is someone getting the best, the best, the best, the best of you?”
Referencing back to the top of the list we have our second appearance by Rod Stewart with ‘The First Cut is the Deepest.’ Arguably his most famous song is also my favorite by him; simply beautiful.
“The first cut is the deepest, baby, I Know
The first cut is the deepest
But when it comes to being lucky, he’s cursed
And when it comes to lovin’ me he’s worst…’
I have always been a huge fan of AC/DC, probably my favorite band of all time and lately I have been stuck listening to three of their songs round the clock. Those are ‘Have a Drink on Me,’ ‘Ride On,’ and ‘Little Lover.’
“So don’t worry about tomorrow
Take it today
Forget about the check
We’ll get hell to pay
Have a drink on me…”
“I’m gonna ride on
Ride on
Ride on, standing on the edge of the road
Ride on, thumb in the air…”
“When the band said goodnight
I had to say hello
Little lover, I can’t get you off my mind, no
Little lover, I’ve been trying hard to find
Someone like you…”
Last, but not least I have two songs by Red Hot Chili Peppers…’Dani California’ and ‘Dark Necessities.’ I didn’t even listen to RHCP before last year and then my Boyfriend bought tickets to one of their concerts so I thought I might as well start listening to them. It was a good choice all around because I now love their music.
“California, rest in peace
Simultaneous release
California, show your teeth
She’s my priestess
I’m your priest
Yeah, yeah, yeah…”
“Yeah, you don’t know my mind
You don’t know my kind
Dark necessities are part of my design
Tell the world that I’m falling from the sky
Dark necessities are part of my design…”

I often listen to tons of songs that are not on this playlist but whenever I don’t want to sort through thousands of songs I click on this playlist and just let it go. I would love to hear your favorite songs and what your go to playlist is made of!
