Foundation Fun is a new series I am going to start with one post a week on Wednesday. I have SOOOO many foundations in my makeup collection so now I am going to just go through the box of them and give my overall thoughts and reviews. None of these are new foundations to me, they are ones I have tried time and time again so it will be a full and comprehensive review.
This is the first installment of Foundation Fun and since it is the dewy skin time of year I am going to start with L’Oreal True Match Lumi. This is the FIRST dewy and luminous foundation I had ever tried and I still love it to this day.
So the shade I have always used and still use in this foundation is C5 Classic Beige. This shade matches my neutral undertone vey well and really doesn’t look like I have foundation on, just my skin but better. That is a look I go for a lot, especially in the warmer months because I don’t like to have cakey makeup or look like I am wearing far too much. This is the perfect thing for people who feel like that because it hides imperfections and discoloration but looks natural as hell!
Alright, I was very enthusiastic about the coverage and color on it and that really does continue with the formulation. It doesn’t feel heavy at all and it feels like I am wearing just a moisturizer, which I do even when I don’t wear foundation. I don’t believe that anyone wants their skin to feel heavy and clogged up all day which some foundations do.
Onto the main promise of the foundation…the dewiness. It isn’t shiny to where it looks like you’ve been sweating everyday but it is dewy to where you look very healthy. It doesn’t accentuate pores, it hides pores!! The problem with a lot of dewy foundations I try is that they make my pores look huge but this one does the opposite, which I am very thankful for.
Lastly, lets discuss the long wear of this foundation. Many dewy foundations don’t last as long because they aren’t really suppose to be powder set and they tend to move a little more than matte foundations. Well this one lasts for about 8 hours which I think is a good amount of time. It is not a 12hr or 16hr wear because it does start to rub off and fade away after about 8hrs. But for a dewy foundation that has all these other benefits I think that is far enough.
It may last a little less than some other foundations but I think the pros here outwear the cons. This is still in my collection 3 years later for a good reason, it really makes my skin look great. Try it out, it is affordable and I promise you will not regret it at all!!
