Today I ran out of my favorite BB cream for summer and was devastated! Since I am not tan right now I decided to try a new foundation that has been sitting in my collection for a few months…
I first bought this when I had very dry skin and it promised to hydrate. The long 12 hour wear was also very promising since I normally wear my makeup for 12 or 13 hours a day.
When I tried it on my hand today I was very hesitant since it looked too light for me but also oxidized a little and it seemed very, very thin. None the less I decided to try it on my face. I doted it all over my face and blended it out with a flat top foundation brush by BH Cosmetics. I then did the foundation around my eyes and where I needed more coverage with a random face sponge. It covered everything I needed it too and felt very light which I loved!!!
I then went on with my routine which included Tarte Shape Tape Concealer, setting powder, Butter Bronzer, Paaarty Blush, Pure Nude Highlight, brow products, like three mascaras, and Lip Paint. After finishing everything I did see that my face was a little more yellow than my body which can be fixed but I like to not have to touch up everything else. It is so much easier when the foundation just matches and I don’t have to try and shade and all that.
I think it turned out okay (please ignore my very terrible selfie skills without a filter. But after applying everything it looked lighter than my body but not to the point where it couldn’t work for the day.
I know this doesn’t count as first impressions but I did wear this for about 6 hours today and wanted to share my experience with that. It did get somewhat oily around the nose and chin but I expect that with most foundations, especially in the summer. However, it also got cakey looking by the time I got home so I don’t think that qualifies as 12 hour wear.
Overall it wasn’t terrible but I am not sure if this is going to be a favorite of mine…I will have to try it out some more.
