Foundation Fun once again!! I have had this in my collection for a very long time…which is why the bottle looks so dirty…please ignore that. Back when I use to have good skin and no texture I loved this foundation!! The great part about it is that it goes on as a liquid and kind of turns into a powder so you don’t have to set it. I think not having to set foundation really helps make it look less cakey which I live for.
I decided why not try this out again because my skin has texture and uneven tone and what not now. (I am having a terrible few skin months honestly) However, with worse skin I think it really tests the foundation out and shows me the real amount of coverage and long lastability…that is probably not a word but we all get the idea. Just a disclaimer…this is the first time I am showing my bare, no makeup, skin in a post on this blog and it is terrifying to put out there lol. I really hate pictures of myself already so bare with me on that.
With the lighting in the picture it may be hard to tell but I have a lot of texture on my forehead and some on my cheeks as well as a few blemishes here and there. You can also see that my face is lighter than my neck and the rest of my body because I always have foundation with SPF on so my face never tans, haha.
Alright so I wanted to do some shade comparisons so you can see how the Dream Wonder Shade 20, Classic Ivory compares to other shades that are light.
Once again, please ignore my dirty makeup bottles and my half ass background because it has been a long day. From left to right I have the Dermablend Leg & Body Foundation in shade Light, the Urban Decay All Nighter Foundation in shade 0.5, the L’Oreal True Match Lumi Foundation in shade Soft Ivory , the Kat Von D Lock-It Foundation in shade Light 46, and the Dream Wonder Foundation in shade 20 Classic Ivory.
As you can see the Dream Wonder seems a little darker and a little more yellow. The four others seem to be much lighter and more cool toned than the Dream Wonder but the yellow is okay for my tanner skin right now.
So moving on, I put this foundation on the back of my hand and dipped my Real Techniques sponge in it and then dabbed it onto my face. I ended up doing two layers and the going over certain spots a third time. I think it covered very good and looks like it blended out nice so far. The formula does dry fast so I had to work fast but so far I like how it turned out.
The color seems a little too yellow and a little too light for my skin tone but I am going to apply concealer and contour to see if it helps out a little. You can still see the texture but the discoloration is gone so that is a plus!
——-6 Hour Time Skip——-
Well, with my bronzer, blush, contour, etc. it worked for my skin tone and it looked like it blended. Here is what it looked like after 6 hours of being on…
I did not touch up with concealer or powder all day so I think this worked pretty well! Remember, I did not set it at all and it only got a little shinny around the nose after 6 hours!! Normally I set my foundation and I have to powder every 2/3 hours so this held matte for a very long time.
It didn’t break up at all on my skin and it didn’t slip or disappear…the coverage stayed very nice all day!! I would highly recommend this one and I think I will be using it a lot more this summer!
Let me know any other foundations you would like me to try out 🙂
