First things first HAPPY 2019!!!!!
So I am normally not one for new years resolutions because I firmly believe that if you want to make a change you should do it right away, not wait for the new year. However, on the other hand I also think that having a set starting point for goals you want to achieve is very helpful. For this reason I made new years resolutions for 2019.
Let’s get into some background before I tell you my resolutions. If you’ve been reading my blog for a while you know that I have been going through some depression and anxiety and just overall uncertainty about my future. So dramatic, I know, right? But really I have good days and bad days and on those good days I want to achieve everything I have ever dreamed of and make things happen. But on those bad days I want to curl up and never do anything in my life again. So I thought setting some goals would be good for this as well.
That brings us to resolution number 1!
Do What Makes ME Happy…
I am someone who will stay unhappy if it is something that is making others happy. Really, I love making people happy and I believe that is a great trait to have!! However, not if it is affecting my happiness and pushing me further into depression or anxiety. I want to make time to do what I love everyday, as well as be around those I love as much as possible. I want to be happy daily and that is going to be my top priority.
Finish Things, Not Just Start Them…
I have a problem with starting things (like this blog, my youtube, my Instagram, college, writing, podcast, etc.) that I don’t keep trying at, I don’t follow through. I get bored fast when things don’t happen right away and therefore I end up giving up and not succeeding in anything. So this year I would like to keep going with things and work to succeed in the things I want.
Become Financially Independent…
I am only 19 so I am not terribly old to still rely on my dad partially, however I don’t want to be financially dependent on anyone. Therefore I want to succeed in the things I want (like said above) and become financially stable on my own.
Along with gaining financial independence I would also love and will work towards financial freedom. I mostly want to achieve this to travel and really find things that make me happy.
Get Fit, Eat Healthy…
Lastly, i am making the resolution that everyone makes…working out and eating healthy. I was doing good at going to the gym daily and not eating fast food at all before Christmas came along…but with the holidays comes busy days and weight gain.
I would like to also share some quotes I would like to live by for the next year:
“If you can’t stop thinking about it then don’t stop working for it.”
“Stop being scared of the judgement of others. Don’t be afraid to live.”
“Everyone must choose one of two pains: the pain of discipline or the pain of regret.”
“If you don’t like where you are MOVE, you are not a tree”
Let me know your new years resolutions in the comments!!
